Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Some great , also sad photo's but thanks for showing them
Interesting photos, help underscore the suffering endured at Stalingrad. Thank you for posting.
I wonder what the man in the white camo coat on the left in photo 7 was smiling about....strange....the Others sure don't look like They feel like smiling much. Great and fascinating photos, for sure. But,having said that, I still wouldn't mind having a 1 ton truck and being left alone by that pile of helmets for an hour or 2...

Thanks for posting.
Thanks ,as the other said, very sad. The pic of the Luft airplane crashed and the dead soldat frozen in 'sitting' position and his arms are held out as if they were holding the steering wheel! R.I.P. to the brave men who lost their lives for a blasted town named "Stalingrad"
