Wow! It looks like your grandfather was all over. Those black soldiers in photo 221 appear to be French Colonial troops taken prisoner by the wehrmacht unless I am mistaken. In previous photos, there were shots of the Ukraine. I've got Al Stewart's Road to Moscow playing in my head as I view these photos of the Ost Front.

Thank you very much for your attention tampalam. Yes, your right, it seems that my grandfather has been all over. For me it would be very interesting to reconstruct something like a route he was "going" while serving in the army.

Great idea about tracing your grandfather's routes. Looking at photo 250, I see Bactrian Camels which means that he was probably deep into Soviet central Asia. Your grandfather must have covered many thousands of miles during the war.
