Nice dagger, but quite substantial for a hide away dagger.

From your picture the blade appears to be made from the same metal as the handle which i presume is a rifle bolt ( cocking lever ). If pow camp or similar made I would suggest that it is extremely likely that the blade was made from metal originating from the same source as the rifle bolt.

I also thought the blade was from a Swedish Mauser bayonet when I first saw it. Excellent find!

It actually looks almost identical to that M1896 Bayo!

Thanks for the hint, I will investigate this further!

Yeah, the metal is identical as to the looks of it. After having studied the item in detail Im amazed as to the quality of workmanship involved. The balance between the handle and the blade is also astonishing!

    Thanks for your input!

No weld visible at all, I will send better pictures on monday when Im back home again. The bolt handle is fixed to the blade very very neatly.

Took some more pictures of the blade/handle today. As you can see its almost as it was made out of the same steel (without welding) also notice the symmetrical notches of the blade. Mystery item indeed

    All opinions welcome!

    Cheers Jan
