Description: Soldbuch/driving license Schwere Heeres Panzerjäger Abteilung 661
The Soldbuch is a replacement and issued on 5.10.1944 by Panzerjäger Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung 43 in Spremberg/Lausitz, Wehrkreis III. Interestingly he received a new dog tag the same time as his Soldbuch!!
Page 6 shows on 23.1.1945 he received a clothing/kit issue from Fahrausb.Abt. 8?, this was stationed in Bielitz, Kreis Löbau, Westpreußen.
Page 15 records a security check from 661 on 23.1.1945? These can be misleading as the security check had to be done on specific dates so they alter the date and use the current units stamp. Unfortunately there is no info to say for sure when he arrived at 661 and more importantly when he left and which new unit he joined if that latter is the case! At that stage of the war difficult to keep documents up to date.
However! Page 21 has been used to record friends addresses...not uncommon whilst in PoW camp!
He was awarded the Russian Front Medal which means he was over the Russian Border between November 1941 and February 1942 His driving license was opened 22.3.1938 whilst serving with Panzer Abwehr Abteilung 1 in Goldap, Wehrkreis I (1 Inf.Div.) and is signed by Major Ernst Moritz von Frankenberg und Proschlitz. The license is for class 2 (car/truck under 3.5 t) and class 1 (motorcycle). The latter achieved whilst serving with Infanterie Regiment 244 (60 Inf.Div.).
My opinion on this Set is the Owner had a Ruff Time had more than one lucky Escape!
