Description: Up for sale is a third reich regimental stein. It comes from a very rare float plane regiment, which was stationed on the Bug Penninsula, which is located on the German island of RĂ¼gen. The stein belonged to Obergefreiter Schmidt. The Germans first started using the Bug Peninsula for a floatplane base in 1917. It was decommissioned in 1920 due to the Versailles Treaty. The Germans started using the base again in 1934. It also served as a floatplane school. Operational German units utilized the base from 1939 to 1945. After the end of the war the Red Army leveled the facility with explosives. On the left side of the stein, translated, it says: Remembering the Seefliegerhorst Komp a Bug / Rugen On the right side of the stein, translated, it says: We sing a new song of the sea, the song of the steel engines! The blue ether is our territory we are chosen to battlefield, Seeflieger on the Bug: enough honor and pride!
