Description: An fine original German Tunic....less the insignia..... Unfortunately it was like this when acquired, probably some dealer that desecrated it to "enhance it's value as an SS tunic. It was one of those rebuild project that never came about. A fair size tunic, maybe a 40 chest. Excellent overall condition, with beautifully smooth wool, good early war quality. For some reason the shoulder strap loops are missing, though I have a piece of original feldgrau wool that can provide loops. The faint stitch marks from the eagle are evident. A moth hole repair exists on the rear of the collar, expertly done. Came into the US years ago, from the ETO. This can become the centerpiece of a collection that lacks an early example..... For the honest collector, this can be dressed out to fit into into almost any Army or SS display you want. All you need are tabs, boards and eagle, for starters. Optional sewing of insignia or spot on medal loops (on pockets, with original feldgrau thread ) can be asked for...
