    Description: This is a beautiful pair of WWII German Alpine Skis! These types of skis were primarily used by Gebirgsjägers and Skijägers, but could be found being used by other troops too. GEZE-Kandahar ski bindings were renowned throughout the skiing world during the 1930-50's. The skis were made in Murnau, Germany...just to the south of München (Munich). I would put these skis in the mid- to late-war category since they have metal edges on them. The white paint with the green stripe is typical for military issued skis, though wartime photos show skis with all types of finishes. These skis could be used for both Alpine (downhill) skiing and Nordic (cross-country) skiing depending on how the cable binding is set on the sides of the skis:
