It is German manufactured by Rheinmetall, but the diameter is needed to tell what artillery piece it was for. Measure it in cm.

The neck of the shell have dents, so i have measured the outside diameter of the shell and subtract 2 x the thickness of the shellwall.
The diameter at the bottom: 88.3 mm
The outside diameter: 78 mm
The inside diameter: 76 mm
Length from bottom to top: 143.3 mm
I hope this will help you to identify the shell. We will appreciate it if you will give statistics of the artilliry piece. The owner, said it was his grandfather's shell and the length was not reduced.
Thanks a lot.

To me it looks like a German 7,7cm l.F.K. 1896 n/A shell case that has been cut down.

Thank you for the identification. I agree that someone has cut of the shell case.
I found your webpage (http://www.lovettartillery.com/7.7cm...F.K.)_1896_n_A.) very interesting.
