Absolutely incredible! I am completely amazed that all these items in Eastern Europe come out of the ground in such good condition. The paint is still there and it hardly has any rust on it. It has GOT to be the soil composition! What an awesome find. I hope it will be restored to operating condition!

Wow, great found!
But:
where is the upper part and the artillery ?
Did they find it finally? Does anybody knows why the chassis is showing a red color?

It was probably sheltering from shell fire under the bridge and it broke ice and sank.The other theory was it may have been simply crossing the frozen river and failed to make it through as ice may have been too thin

The red paint is the standard oxy primer used on all German vehicle's and many other smaller item's during the war and was to prevent rust and corrosion.It obviously worked well here

I am writing on behalf of people involved in project Stug's IV renovation. As You know,a group of volunteers decided to restore it to its original state. Unfortunately they found serious problem - some parts have been completely destroyed or missing.

We are looking for following parts ( PzKpfw IV or Stug IV), necessary for further Stug IV renovation.
