There used to be an old British Cromwell off Donna Nook in Lincolnshire on the sand ... that too was used for RAF bombing practice.

This is a children´s tale. Really the 20 Pz IV and 8 Stug III was part of the "Bear Program" of military assistance from Germany to the Spanish Army.
Recently the tank was totally restored and moving.

Well, then the "children´s tale" was written in the sign that was placed in front of the tank when I filmed it. The authors of the "children´s tale" were the military personnel that placed the tank there in the first place.

Stuka,
You have a point there, but bear in mind that Franco´s regime never pretended to hide their friendship with Nazi Germany in the post-war years (They did during the last part of WWII for fear of being invades). As an example, the "Blue Division" soldiers who fought with german uniforms in the eastern front were publicly honoured by the regime year after year. There is even a street named after them (which still exists).

It's great to hear a story about these forgotten warhorses having a happy ending...Spain has just proved itself superior to Russia (IMHO), lol.
