This photo has been in various publications throughout the years; The tank is described as having been destroyed during the Battle of the Bulge.

I'd have hated to be a member of that tanks crew.

That picture has been in many books over the years and is usually mis-identified as a destroyed Tiger tank.
But I do believe every book I have seen it in say it was taken during the Battle of the Bulge.

    Best Regards,
    Mike

P.S. None the less, still a spectacular picture. Lets just hope no one was home when the damage occured.

Regardless of where...It does prove the old saying.."It's better to give than to receive".

Looks like a Panzer IV ("Mark IV" as the Brits called it); I think it's an F2 model, one of (or THE) the last variant(s).

Probably destroyed by a Bazooka or a rocket-firing Typhoon - or by its crew, although the damage seems severe for that. But I DNK how bad the damage would be if the ammo went up.

One thing for sure - death would have been instantaneous if the crew were inside it at the time.
