I know it is german,but what does it mean ?

it could be a cavalry recon. unit?? that symbol on the rectangle looks almost like the symbol on recon units?

Mich: I found this in German Military Dictionary of World War II: Terms and Symbols. If you look at the symbol second from the bottom, (rectangle with diagonal slash), yours looks like its a fender from a military police (Feldgendarmerei) motorcycle. I think the device on top of the rectangle is a flag that designates a company-size unit, and the 4 might be for the 4th company. Dwight
