The top Panther Ausf.G sure has an unusual paint-scheme...I also notice that #401 is missing the overlapping roadwheels, very interesting and thanks for posting!
    cheers, Glenn

It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

That is an unusual paint job ! Panther looks to be painted
all over in primer with a quick camo scheme done over
top. It would be interesting to see/hear/know where
    this design came from..........
    Regards,

    Steve.

The Panther at the Tank Museum is in the 1945 camo scheme.

Red lead primer with a camo overpaint.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hi Steve,

The way I understand it was that this was a last gasp production problem where the shortage of RAL paints forced the manufacturers to use it sparingly, and that's how this mix of camouflage and red oxide paint came about.

    Regards, Ned.

Panther: Probably the best German tank design of WWII? - WAR HISTORY ONLINE
"The camouflage scheme is similar to that used on Panthers leaving the factory in the last months of the war. A basic undercoat of red with other colours rapidly applied. It was seen on Panthers of 5th Battalion, 25th Panzer Grenadier Division on the Eastern Front in February 1945."
