Default Tasmanian based WW1 German field pieces

    Gday all,
Over the next few weeks i hope to present to you WW1 German field pieces that were shipped to Tasmania at the end of the Great War.
Most of these guns ended up as war memorial guards or were sited in public parks etc.

First up ia a 1917 Krupp built 15cm sFH13 howitzer thats located in Beaconsfield about 40km from my home in GeorgeTown.

This gun was one of 3409 built by both Krupp and Rheinmetall during this period.

This beast is also located in Beaconsfield. This one we paid for back int the early 70's

    Gday Paul,
To right mate there are heaps of interesting pieces all over the country.
I would almost say there would be more WW1 German made guns in this country than there are in modern day Germany.
Off the topic of German pieces I know of an old Boer War 6 pounder sitting in Ross,I'll get some images of her soon.
I was quite suprised when the Leopard turned up in Beaconsfield, small town population would be around 1000 people.Lucky buggers
Cheers mate and all the best
    Dave
