    Default Subdued cockades

    Tovarisch Boyesh;

    One of my troops recently e-mailed me with a question. He was attending an event, and had a subdued cockade on his pilotka. One of the other participants said that the "green" cockades were issued, and used only by NKVD border troops.

    I have never heard this before.

    "Someone told me he thought the green stars used by the Russians in the GPW were worn by the NKVD border troops, whereas the red ones were for RKKA regular army ... is that true or myth ?

    Volodymyr"

    Has anyone else ever heard this?

    Does anyone have any solid evidence one way, or the other?

    That is a myth and is incorrect. I don't know where he got that idea from.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Ade;

    That is pretty much what I thought.
