Shell is the Hungarian M50. Absolutely.
Liner and chin strap looks like from the Russian SSH-40. This is a fantasy from the seller.

Do you have any information on the production of steel helmets in Romania after the war? I do not! I will be glad to know about it anything new.
Hungarian helmet M50 can be easily distinguished from the Russian SSH-40 in the form of visor. Hungary has a horizontal plane and a Russian - slant down - forward. Look at the picture and draw conclusions.

Looks like my Russian M40 ,IMO. Although yours has the two point chin strap which is earlier than mine as mine was upgraded in 1948.

Hi Dean, just to clarify a point.

Your helmet will have been made in 1948, but the later style chinstrap fitted to yours will be an upgrade done much later. I don't have a date of introduction for this chinstrap system.

    Cheers, Ade.
