I think it's probably the Ssh68 judging by the less flared shape on the sides, the Ssh 40 should have more curves or slightly more flared out
but the visor looks longer more like the Ssh60

it is a Ssh 60
what time frame / years did the Russians stop manufacturing the Ssh60?
do you know if they were still making the Ssh60 after the Vietnam war? or post 1975
I do not know the end date of production of Ssh 60, some helmets are dated, some not.
This helmet is dated 69, the second is not marked .
good info! they say the Ssh60 helmets were still produced into the 1970's along with the Ssh68
I would guess they stopped sometime in the mid 1970's maybe a little later

can i ask was the ssch 60 manufactured from old ssch 40 shells or was it a seperate design in the style of the 40
I think they used the new production shells to make the Ssh60
most Ssh60 helmets Ive seen all have four high rivets like the one in the first post
if they used old Ssh40's they would have an additional four lower rivets from the old style liner system
thanks battlegear for the info and thanks dom for that link ,you live and learn cheers james
