Please show clear close-ups of the star cockarde. AND, if possible, it's attaching prongs behind the sweatband.

I really do not know what to say overall about the cap, except this:

The red liner is odd (and that does not discount anything IMO), but, it shows no wear in contrast to the sweatband and the "aged" look of the outer components. Can you feel and/or "smell" some kind of grease or oil that has been recently applied? I see a dark spot on the crown in your photos, but I may be mistaken.

The wear on the edges of the visor are suspect (to me, that is) of being "enhanced" by busy hands.

The star; it seems to me a real one, but a tin variant that appeared mid war; so 1920X, IMO, of course, is out of the question. Does it measure approx. 34MM?

Yes, the star measures approximately 34mm. . . There is no odor of grease or oil, and the cap itself does not feel greasy. It simply smells "old".

Seen by me caps was absolutely other in construction. I would say this is probably a filmstudio copy. The star is imo aftyer the 1940 year made. The bad sign is the postwar sweatband...
