Article about: Hi i have recently bought this Russian helmet model SSh39 but in the liner theres 2 buttons that have Czechoslovakia on them and it has 3 of those rivet things i forget what there called!! I

    Hi i have recently bought this Russian helmet model SSh39 but in the liner theres 2 buttons that have Czechoslovakia on them and it has 3 of those rivet things i forget what there called!! Is this helmet Russian? Czech reissue? and its value? And any info about this type of helmet?? - nick k

    The liner appears to be a Czech M-53 liner.

    Hi Nick, it is pure Czech. Therse are still fairly common and cheap to buy. But are still good original helmets.

    czech m53.. but itīs an older version (maybe 50's), because of the leather chinstraps, the last and more modern version of this helmet had Y shaped green chinstraps, i think made out of nylon.. I jut got the same as yours and itīs cool, part of cold war history...
