Also, an exact measurement in MM would help...

I think it's a early pilotka star, it is similar to the navy m 47, and the carrot color of enamel is widely seen on the early examples

When you say "early" you mean "early war time"? pre war? Is this star used on navy pilotka or landing troops?

I mean mid 30's. It is not a navy star. The navy pilotkas in war time period was allowed to use for the submariners only
