    Default Red Star cap insignia

Hi, two red star (cap insignia?) flea market finds for review. I'm not a Soviet militaria expert but booth these look quite old, the bigger star to the right looks even older and is in two peaces the "hammer and sickle" is tighten to the star with two pins. Can anyone tell the age of booth insignias and maybe on which type of cap they were used?

    Thanks Al

The two peice construction one is 1936 pattern. I have shown two on the forum in the past few months.

    The other is 1940/1950's.

Both would have been used on the visor cap or the winter Ushanka.

    Nice buys!

    Cheers, Ade.

Thanks Ade! How much would the 1936 and 40-50ties star bring? Or are they regular too?

A mint 1936 pattern I would say about £45 here. The damage to the enamel and the missing prong would really effect the value on yours. It would be about £15 to £20 I guess?

The other would be about £10.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hello,

Isn't the left star a navy one with its smaller Hammer?

Hi Bruno, yes that is correct. I forgot to add that. Thanks for mentioning it.

    Cheers, Ade.
