    Default Relic Soviet Helmet?

I think this is a relic SSH39? It's badly pitted.

"Found (?)" during recent excavation works in Germany.

Would this type of helmet have been worn near the end of the war?

Not really clued up on Rusky helmets to be honest.

    Got in very cheaply..

This is actually Ssch 39 with early Red Star. These were not worn during combat actions on German territory. I believe these were actually abolished to wear in early 1943 or late 1942. Also not many Ssch 39 to the end of war but happanes to find that type of helmets on late war battlefield. Maybe there were 2 layers of paint and later was removed during cleaning?
