    Default REPARATIONS - German Made

I have always thought this to be an interesting area of collecting.

So, as the availability of authentic wartime items has been far and few between, I have given much attention to it and have accumulated a few pieces.

I wish to dedicate this thread to all examples of German made items - from insignia to cloth items to equipment and to weapons -

Forum associate Philippe prompted me to finally set up my long stored away, and never used photo-tent and Nikon camera to take some photos of the postwar German-made caps that are in my collection.
Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam!

    Robert Lubstein - 1948r

The 1930s star was affixed to it as I have received it.

Tankist - perhaps late 40s? Made by Karl Berger. I especially like the German style chinstrap.

The star to me seems 50s Soviet made.

Tankist - 1940s/50s. I purchased this some years ago as an Austrian tailor made piece. Even the chinstrap and visor are not typical of Soviet make.

I believed it then, as I do now. The quality is impeccable and something I would expect from a German hat maker.

The star is a Soviet made example from the prewar/early wartime years, IMO.

I believe that this one is German factory made.

    But by whom?

The plastic chinstrap is very unusual, and I think original to the cap, along with it's buttons, which are German made and dated 1947.

The star is Soviet made dating from the prewar years. It was on there when I acquired the cap, so it stays.

    ..and last, but not least.

    Private purchase?

It is very well made in accordance with German quality IMO.

The star is a killer: It is a two piece example made years after the typical Soviet made two-piece stars were discontinued...

Unlike it's Soviet made counterparts, it is painted, rather than finished in high quality enamel.
