This one does not conform to wartime construction. I suspect this one is postwar and not Soviet, but from a Warsaw Pact nation such as Poland
Just a thought, the helmet is very dirty/stained. Would a professional peace time military allow such a condition? Ray
All depend were this helmet was in fact ... if it it was forgotten since years in a cellar, an attic with all humidity, dust, dirt etc ... you can have this result easly especially if his was already in use condition because of the tanker who got it, also it could be used by a children.
A condition of an item will not tell you if an item is pre war, wartime or post-war.

True, however it appears to be oil/grease/grime stained not just dirt. Typical of use in a tank with those factors. Of course no one can say when it received that condition. It was just an observation were you would think that condition would not have been allowed in any "professional" peace time army. Ray
