    i got this ushanka a couple of weeks ago and was told it was cold war era. not sure how to date them. can anyone give me the year it was made?
    The badge on the front is repro because it didnt come with one which is annoying. Thanks in advance.

    Made in 1985. The "85r" stamp is the date. "60" is the size.

    However, I think the use the exact same pattern even today, no? I'm quite suspicious of all the mid80s unissued ones of these I see ( I have one too)

    Don't worry about the dates: these are not being faked to the very best of my knowledge. They just made a huge amount.

    I can not imagine that these should be faked. Maybe some will try to convert them to "wartime" examples by faking stamps. Some do it with helmets changing the '48 stamp to '43 not knowing that the 1948 lids ( Ssh-40 or 39 ) a much more rare than 1943. Idiots.
