This is what I think is the misinterpretation.

I doubt that Russian documents would refer to a Sohlberg model 1917 helmet as French, regardless of whether it is originally a Finnish, or a Russian design.

There is written: "French model", as a style. Adrian did not produce in Russia. Why? The French helmets supplied in sufficient quantity. At least, all assault units were equipped with helmets, French or Russian manufacture. Finnish plants regularly produce helmets and send them to the customer - Russian Military ministry. When in December 1917, Finland became independent, warehouses of factories Zolberg and Holmberg had only about 500 ready-made helmets - the remains of the total ordered to 600 000 pieces.
