A few years ago here in States you could get surplus Soviet style helmets cheep $30-$40
but they have dried up now. I wish now I had gotten one to go with my Russian collection.
The Holster you got looks like one I got with my CZ 52 !

    Wildman,

For some time now I have been trying to find an original WWII holster for the TT-33 pistol of which I have two…a 42 and 45 dated gun.

I have the unissued post war variation of the holster;… however I wanted a WWII holster that had a little more “been there” character.

Today I picked up the holster shown below;….whatever flap markings that may have once been there have long since disappeared.

The spare magazine pocket arrangement seen below between the two models of holsters is quite different.

From what I understand this model holster was also designed to carry the Nagant revolver.

This holster is not pretty…. but she may have an interesting story to tell?

The past few days have involved a bit of a Russian collecting experience between the helmet shown above and this holster.

A post war version of the TT-33 holster.

    Todays purchase.

The 45 dated gun has two matching magazines.

Nice - That holster has stories to tell. Numrich Gun Parts Corp might have what your looking for. P/N 866-686-7424 tell them exactly what you want.

    Nice helmet David!

May I ask you if it's complicated to import a PPSh gun to Canada. I want to buy one since a long time, but I don't know how it works to import such items in the country.

    Ost-Berlin,

    Thanks for your comment.

I got the PPSh-41 in Canada...I don't think you can import this type of gun into Canada.

This gun has been converted from full auto to semi auto and is registered accordingly.

Sometimes you see deactivated guns being offered for sale in Canada.....am I correct in assuming that you live in Canada?

    Dimas,

Are you referring to the Colt M1911A1 pistol that "may" have been lend leased to the Russians?
If this is not the pistol you are referring to...then what I am suggesting below may be wrong.

I so,...the closure strap on this holster would have been far too short to close with this pistol in the holster
and the M1911A1 magazine would never have
fitted in the holster magazine pouch.

The top photo below shows a Colt M1911A1 pistol in this holster.
The second photo shows a TT-33 pistol in this holster....with the spare magazine
    in the holster magazine pouch.

The difference in the size of the Colt M1911A1 and the TT-33 pistol.

Both guns were manufactured in 1942.

The usual U.S. holsters for the M1911A1 pistol which are different in design to the Russian holster.

Dimas, I don't know how the Russians carried the M1911A1 pistol
    or if they ever did?

The Russians were given Thompson smgs...which they never used?

1942 and 1943 date markings on these M1911A1 U.S. holsters.

No visible markings on this Russian holster including the inside flap....the test of time has taken its toll.
