Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
thanks for all the nice comments im a real fan of the soviet design the 40 looks to be the same profile as the 60 except with different liner mounting postions
Great looking helmets!
Is there a good source for WW2 used Soviet helmets? I can't seem to find anything other than cold war issue
Even in Russia it is difficult to find SSH-40, used during WW2, in original condition and with all the ink stamps. In 1948, the vast majority of the SSH-40 helmets of the Red Army went to the factory repair Lysvensky Steel Plant (LMZ). Some rare instances are found in the warehouses of the Civil Defense, or in small rural fire departments. Also rare, but caught SSH-40 in an acceptable state of the collector during excavations on the WW2 battlefields.
just wandering if anybody knows what type of gasmasks would of been used with the ssch 60 and 68 would it of been gp4 ,5,or 6 thanks james
