SSh36 chinstrap

Hey everyone, page 34 of Dr. Clawson's book on Russian helmets refers to five different kinds of Ssh36 chinstraps. None of them are like the one pictured here. Does anyone know if this is one of the original chinstraps on an Ssh36? Clawson does mention a Spanish-only strap that had a prong that fit through holes, but if I'm not mistaken that Spanish chinstrap is leather, not cloth. I searched the posts on this forum and didn't see any others like this. Any insights are appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the opinions everyone, after thinking about it further and looking at more pictures online and the link Gunny provided, I don't think it's original either. Not necessarily meant to deceive, as it looks old and could be period from something else, just not from the factory.
