im no expert on these stamps but i would say the paintwork indicates a ssh from this time period

thank you. here is the helmet, looks like liner has been replaced causing a crack in the rear, chinstrap is installed backwards, star is there but quite faded,

I agree , the cloth chinstrap is a replacement.

what about the liner? the rivets look like they were hammered by hand, and the rear crack is the result...

I wrote "I agree" , the liner and chinstrap are replaced .
This helmet has a beautiful patina .

the rivit heads do look flattened ,purely out of interest can you show closer pictures of the inside liner showing the rivit termination's please ,thanks james
