looks like an LMZ 40 in a size 3. lots of pictures of the faint rear ink stamp. i'm hoping it's original. thank you.

I doubt that the liner is original to the helmet .

Not standard liner however I do not know from what helmet the liner comes from.

There are different liner for the СШ-39 , this type exist but
I do not think this one is contemporary to the helmet.

Thanks for educating me a bit further Dom, I have not come across this type of liner before in a 39. Every day a learning day

Looks like a nice original helmet shell to me. Whilst the Ssh39 has a different liner from the more common Ssh40, it dosnt look like that. I would of thought post war liner, and possibly from one of the other Warsaw pact countries.
