Ssh40 in question

So far I can just recognize the 39s from the 40s from the rivet placement but other than that, it's a crapshoot! Does this helmet look alright? probably postwar, right?
Is it even Russian made? The seller is offering it for $60 with $35 shipping but I'd probably throw an offer of 40-45 or something. If it turns out cool.
I've requested more, better pictures of stampings if it has any.

sounds a tad overpriced for this incomplete example ,also im unsure why it has leather chinstrap most have canvas ,i would pass on price alone ,regards james

oh! i didn't notice that at first! so russian helmets don't have the D-ring styled chinstrap bales, duly noted!

thanks for your valued input dom ,i had alarm bells about the leather chinstrap ,the shell was screaming ssh40 to me but i also couldnt see the star stamp on the front rim ,you live and learn james
