ssh40 repainted?

Hi Guys,
I have bought this helmet dated 1942. I study many tuto about this type of helmet and everythig seems good for me. Can anabody give me his opinion about it?
I think this helmet have been repainted in dark green. I see two different colors. Am I right? Is it possible to restore it? Thank you for your answers.

Looks more like an SSH-68 with its cone shape. Why bother painting it when you can get an unissued one for $40?

No problem for this helmet I have also SSH40 dated 1943 with dark green paint.
On the stamp of your helmet I read "43" not "42"
