Hello Keith, welcome to the forum! This looks to be a ssh39 and dated 1941, I think. Just from my limited knowledge . I'm sure experts will help out more. I'm glad you finally joined you will like it here.
Dean.
Thanks Dean!
As Dean previously stated a good 1941 production ssh39. If I am not mistaken am3 means it was made at the Lysma Metallurgical Factory.
Hello, great. Thanks for your time. Much respect, Keith.
See, Keith, I knew someone ( panzersaurus) would come along and help more. I'm sure there are more interesting facts about that factory post anything you've learned and post it here, please..this will help others learn ,too.
I found out that the Lysma Metallurgical Factory (LMZ), was located in the western Ural mountain region. It produced some 10,000,000 helmets during The Great Patriotic War, being out of range of aerial bombing......KC
That's great info Keith! Good job doing research
Hi,
for me this liner is a replacement , rivets crushed visible on the outside of the helmet , same thing for the chinstrap , typical postwar .
I've seen this type of stamp being faked and Dom's comment is right, in my opinion. I think, that this is a post war Ssh-40 made to look like a war era one.
