Hello everyone, can someone read these stamps and maybe tell me more about these sidecaps? The sweatband seems to be some kind of artificial leather or painted pressed paper.
Where are they from?
How old are they?
Thanks, Chris.

The buffer indicates manufacture by the workshop "Trud" (plowing) of Ivanovo city.
The outer fabric, inner flannel, transpiration headband, leaves me to think that it is a fabrication years 1938/1942.

Thank you ! 1938-42 sounds very good.
As there were also three sidecaps found with 1942 stamps, I am glad to hear these Trud sidecaps also seem to be from WW2.
Best regards,
Chris
as wished by some forum members here are some more pictures in more natural light.
What do you think about my russian comrade ?
Pilotka #1, size 57
some stain and a small damage on one side
Pilotka #2, size 55
Has anyone seen similar Pilotkas for sale anywhere?
I cannot figure out their value.
Someone says 250 € but this sounds much too high, another one offers one for 190 €. But these are just offers, I cannot say if people really want to pay that much...
Does anyone know what are the values of sidecaps that have really been sold ?
Thanks,
Chris
How do you mean Dom? Seems like the typical "heather" or "Salt and pepper" cotton blend used in many wartime pilotka and of course trousers to me??
1 / post pilotka
2 & 3 postwar pilotka and trouser
Wartime Artel trud Pilotka : Pilotka
Hello,
The pre-war examples I have seen (I own a cavalry cap made of this material) are usually better weaved and have a darker shade than post war ones (at least from the sixties).
But this difference is very difficult to appreciate on pictures.
Also I don´´t think that materials changed dramatically in 1946! Most probably suppliers continued to manufacture the same grades for a decade or so.
For me is an interesting subject, I dont know if someone is able to pinpoint any slight differences in cut in the regulations that can show us a clear trend.
Usually is only dates and administrative jargon on markings what give me the clue.
