Re: 3 Heer Buckles
The aluminium buckle could be by Louis Keller Oberstein but hard to tell from the pics, the steel buckle is a fake with an original tab sewn on officer buckle I dont know I have never collected them.

Re: 3 Heer Buckles
Was it the spot weld mark on the steel buckle catch that gave it away?

First thing was the eagles head, its a well known fake, have a trawl through the rouges gallery, there are a few in there, the shape of the buckle from the rear, spot welds, shape of catch, lack of detail on the front, plus years of experience But once seen these buckles should fool no one, once seen I recognise them as fakes straight away, no matter how they are camouflaged

Re: 3 Heer Buckles
The officer's buckle looks the same manufacture as the one in my thread. Is the front painted feldgrau? If so it is DAK, if you believe Angolia (and I do)

Re: 3 Heer Buckles
looking closer at the officers buckle it does appear to be painted.
at first glance i just thought it was tarnished.
i was not aware that these buckles were part of the normal every day wear.
when purchased i thought it was just a parade buckle.
not bad for trading off a re-parkerized 45cal hs pistol barrell!
