    Default DAK Belt and Buckle

Here's a DAK web belt and buckle that I've had for a bit.

Overall decent shape with some obvious wear and tear.

    - Appears to be size 100 (there are two very faded red ink stamps on either end of the belt.
    - It is named, but ink is faded and can not make out the name.
    - Buckle has a web tab.
    - Buckle is maker marked with a "C" inside of a "B" (BC or CB).

Can anyone help with these two questions?
    1) Are the web tab's more or less common than the leather tab versions?
    2) who is the maker?

    Regards,

    Michael

I can answer these! The web tab buckles are less common and command a higher price, and the maker of yours is Gustav Brehmer, so that is actually a G and not a C.

I'm glad to help where possible. I don't know enough yet to answer the question of rarity, though. Either way, it's a very nice set and worth a fair bit, too.

By the way, if you look beneath the prong bar, you might see a '41' there.

Thanks! On my way back to my "war room" tonight will look for a "41".

This was one of my "bucket items" that I've wanted since a kid (5 down 95 to go)

Well, it's a nice one! I bought one recently, but it's just the buckle. You can see it here. Mine is marked 'HA 41' for H. Arld, which I initially thought was Aurich until Ben corrected me. I also really like the look and feel of the webbed tab.

Thanks! I've added a couple since then, but the SS is definitely a favorite. You should definitely get one when you get the chance. I've seen maybe 75 or so for sale since I started, and it's safe to say that probably 50 of those were fakes. I think that as the number of fake versus real starts to increase, prices for the real ones will increase along with it.

Hello. Nice tropical buckle. GB is a common maker for tropical buckles. A webbed buckle like this is worth around 3 X the same buckle in the same condition with a leather tab.
