I know de-nazified buckles are not to everyone's taste but I grabbed this for a few reasons....

    1) pickings are slim in the land down under ( at least in my patch )
    2) it had a web tab which I don't have an example of
    3) the denaz seemed to be well aged and was only done to the front
    4) Oh, and it was not much more than a slab of beer!

So I'm guessing it was done by a prisoner or something like that??
Anyway, does any expert know a maker ( i cannot see any marks )

    Thanks, Dan

Ok..No doubt about originality IMO.. There were strict guidelines as to the de-nazification of items bearing the swastika after the war's end. It might be a R.S.S. but they were pretty good about marking their buckles.
I defer to Ben and others for a definite maker.. Still a nice find !!

I am puzzled.. Could be a Brehmer but they also manage to mark their buckles quite well..

I like it Dan. Could be post war use by a former soldier or as you say a POW. Just adds to the history. For certain a been there done that piece.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

Looks like an unmarked Gustav Brehmer, look at the ears and catch, you could also look under the prong bar they did mark then there as well
