Fake Heer Buckles

A rogue recently I recently came across... As has been noted by others, the eagle's head is pigeon-like. As David pointed out, the underscore of the "r" is also drifting slightly to the right where as it should be directly underneath as shown on originals.

A fake brass Kriegsmarine buckle with a probable obscured 3rd middle solder point on the reverse.

All 3 fakes. SS is the common 36/42 version, Heer is the pigeon. The have all been artificially aged.

You guys know your stuff, so I hope you can give me some advice.

I asked a dealer to pick up a cheap replica Heer buckle for me the next time he went to a militaria show. This is what he came back with:





It has a J.F.S. mark but looks similar to the first fake buckle on the initial page of this thread, apart from the oakleaves. What is it with the 'skinny' leaves? There's no defined central stalk. Was this a complete fantasy design, or was it based on a genuine style of wreath?

Fake steel Overhoff Heer buckle purchased from antiques group shop with two other buckles from same dealer that were not fake.

The box looks different than most buckles.
