Detlef, nice buckle, I am not sure who provided the buckles, whether Assmann to Overhoff or Overhoff to Assmann, I am sure Chad will chime in when he reads this thread

Great buckle! Thanks for sharing. I'll add some pics of my example for the sake of comparison....There really isn't any documentation explaining what the "deal" was between these two makers. Most HJ buckle collectors assume that it was a combined effort - where one maker produced the box of the buckle and the other finished it off with the belt catch and prongs. These buckles are certainly legit. I think it does speak of a limited partnership between two large buckle makers...but can't verify this.
Great buckle! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Ben and Rob for your comments. Always appreciated.

In this case Overhoff is responsible for the shown buckles. We know other double marked pieces where the Assmann style is clearly visible.

Guido
Hello here is one I got at this years SOS.
Hello All,
Nice buckles! These double maker marked Assmann & Overhoff HJs are certainly interesting and enigmatic. I agree with Guido that this particular buckle has the roundel design characteristic of Overhoff. As has been said, the question of what exactly the relationship between Assmann and Overhoff was in the early days of these HJ buckles remains open. Here are images of the example I hold as well as links to a previous discussion on these buckles.
