pps also for me is nota a "A" buta somethnig as "A+M" or "A+W"....may be...may be not... ;-)
I wonder if it is a unit mark or a stores mark to identify a battalion, a zug, a certain unit? I dont believe its a makers mark

Yes Ben, but it's so strange that we can found the same mark on a polizei buckle, don't you?

I haven't seen it either but just curious could buckles be like dress bayonets possible made by a major maker as Ben states FLL and maybe this is a distributor stamp? timothy
