The pictures are not the best, but I think it is a good and maybe unissued steel buckle by Noelle & Huck, Lüdenscheid dated 1942.
The color is it little odd, but I believe not repainted. I do not able to see any indication of this. Better pictures show more information about it.
I agree with Alex, looks good, Ben will chime in I'm sure, colt1911, who told you it was bad and did you try the search engine,? there are a few there for comparison..

I was told that all the buckles in this excellent condition are the USA remake! has anyone heard of such information on one of the forums?

For me an original an original buckle, if its fake then they have it bang on, the eagle, ears, paint, catch, here are some for reference
