Admiral Graf Spee Find

While on vacation in Buenos Aires a couple of weeks ago I came across this sailor's hat ribbon in an antique store.

Since most of the sailors from the Graf Speed ended up in BA, I think this could be orginal. The quality of the ribbon leads me to believe that it is German origin.

I would appreciate any comments on the fake / real debate.

I believe its a copy, Sorry.
Last year there were several Graf Spee items on E-bay.
Mostly documents but a few Capbands and named KM pullovers.
They were all removed from the Archives in Argentina.

Hi George, sorry to say but yhis one is not an original Kriegsmarine cap tally, is a postwar one made as souvenir. I hope you have not paid too much for it.

An original is embroidered in gold wire, not yellow. Originals are often found dulled - even greenish - from age and wear.

Buenos Aires is the place to sell these, and the brass bell that has the sloppy info on it
