Default Advice needed on Heer M40 Tunic

I have this nice M40 that was converted to a walking out uniform. I loosened a few treads and could see the original white eagle is still in place under the silver eagle. Now, I need some advice; should I remove the silver eagle to make it back to the way the tunic came from the factory, or should I leave the silver eagle in place?

    Regards

Interesting to see, but it was probably best to have left it as it was, IMO

can you get photos of the whole tunic but personally i would leave it as it is so you can see the two eagles

Hi Erik, I would leave it in place if originally wartime applied.

    Cheers, Ade.

Thanks for the good advice - I better leave it as it is, I just couldn't help to look under the silver eagle as I could feel there was something.

I can understand the desire to investigate it, as I would have wanted to know, but best to carefully re-sew it.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but I came across that type of pebble buttons (with kind of a 'nipple' on!) on a few Polish made repros and I am surprised to see it on an original feldbluse. Can someone document or at least comment those? Thanks. BTW, nice find. Interesting to see that the second eagle (on top) was macheine sewn over the previous adler.

Having now seen the pics of the tunic, I think a closer look is in order. I have real concerns over it.

    Cheers, Ade.
