    Can anyone identify this? For me it said, that it is Edelweis* (spelling) headgear detail. Any opinions on this and its authienticity*?

    it's a edelweiss
    and is not militaria

    Mountain infantry used to wear this type of edelweiss.

    This is not a military issue badge.

    The Edelweiss is a popular badge design which can be bought as a souvenir in the Alpine Region.

    Thanks. Found in wikipedia that german mountain infantry used a bit different-looking edelweiss. Anyways, thanks.

    Again, this is a souvenir item of the type you would buy in the Alpine regions.

    I have a similar badge but same design as the type used on the Gebirg's cap but definately not WWII.Again probably another souvenir item as Ade has stated and none Military
