Deutsche Volksstrum Armband? Original or reproduction?

Since I've joined the forum I've learned a lot from all of you guys. This armband however is one I'm just not sure on. I know they made a ton of these at the end of the war, but is it original?

Also; Whats the best way to store armbands and flags?

I've just been keeping them in acid free sleeves and in a dry climate.
