Hello I recently acquired this uniform from a friend of mine, this tunic was once dutch then it was converted to a German uniform after the Netherlands was invaded. Unfortunately southern jersey giant moths decided to take a couple chunks out and the offspring did some damage but overall its not too bad and its a great tunic! Enjoy! - Nick K

A good and interesting item. Thanks for showing it.

Many of these were used by second line and foreign volunteers units, Volksturm, etc.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hello,
Despite the mothing, it still a nice example of duch modified and reissued tunic.
By the lack of pleat on the waist pockets, it can be seen as middle war conversion, most probably done in 1942 to follow the change on german Feldblusen. It is true to say that from 1942 until the end of the war, this kind of seized garments were issued to second line units or Osttruppen, but from 1940 to 1942, many front line soldiers, especially in units newly raised to prepare Barbarossa, received such a tunic (and from other origin of course) as the german industry was not able to produce enough uniforms. Their use in front line units was never discontinued in fact, as many troops from the Ersatzheer or Osttruppen which have fought in the war were never issued new garments when leaving for the front after their initial training. Congrats for your purchase...
    Thanks

Hi Nick, just the regular Heer pattern, either the early ones in "badge cloth" (dark green) or the later type in field grey.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hello,
As Ade mentioned in his last post, you can use any type that you want, just make sure that you add NCOs shoulderstraps as there's a NCO tresse sewn on the collar...
    Thanks
