Hi guys is this gordet a genuine original ?

The clip on the back is marked with an A which is the makers mark for F W Assmann & Sohne Ludenscheid 1938 - 1945.

I found a RZM marked gordet the same type in similar condition being offered for $550 in a local shop,
At that price would you agree it's a good deal?

It is definitely a fake. Police gorgets will never have a RZM mark. RZM marked items were only for NSDAP organizations of which the military police is not one.

Only markings found on the tang of genuine Feldgendarmerie gorgets are manufacturers marks such as Juncker, the Assmann "A" etc. As already stated RZM marks are never found on original pieces, also avoid any with "D.R.G.M." stamps as often seen on fakes during the 70s, and "Fl.U.V." with the Luft eagle found on current fakes of the Luftwaffe Feldgendarmerie gorget. Anything other than a makers mark is fantasy.
