I have seen the exact same badge posted on another forum as being an original. Did you get it from Jody?

It looks to have an embroidery defect on the oakleaf surround. Perhaps it remained unused or sold because of that?

Thanks for the input. I have seen a few like this and several pilot badges in cloth like that. I am assuming it was made that way maybe during one year or later in the war??
