So, the cap is bad,I'm not too concerned, the main focus here is the tunic and mantel, can I get some feedback on them please? Possibly more examples of originals or pics another members?

So....the visor is a stinky fake, and this stuff came from the SON of the dry cleaner, not THE dry cleaner. So it probably wallowed for many years, alone in the dark.

The Italians DID put some German insignia on red backgrounds, once in a while, for general officers, instead of the bottle green. But since it is FAKE, no point in exploring that any further.

How about some CLOSE UPS of the insignia?

    Hello there,

I do not like the look of the breast eagle for starters.

Us and them - and after all we’re only ordinary men. Me, and you - God only knows it’s not what we would choose to do. Forward he cried from the rear, and the front rank died, and the general sat and the lines on the map moved from side to side.

    Hi ,

I agree, the breast eagle does not look good to me too.
Also, this shoulder board looks "fat" to me - just like the east German shoulder boards are.
I'm not an expert, just share an opinion.
    Cheers,

    George

Well, all the extra pieces that are loose (the adler, red cloth pieces ,buttons, one shoulder board from General rank and two from previous rank ,buttons were in the pocket of the tunic). I've been out of town but I will get better close ups of everything when I have time. Thanks for all expert opinions. I would also like to have another member post their Generals Tunic and/or Mantel for a comparison.

The tunic of General Alexander Borquin which was brought back to Texas by a reporter from Stars and Stripes. General Borquin was born in Jamaica to German emigree parents. He returned to fight for Germany in World War I. Following the war, he remained in the army becoming an instructor teacher. This tunic was manufactured in Prague in early 1939 when Borquin was a Colonel. Mid war, he was given command of a Jaeger Division which is indicated by the patch on his tunic sleeve.
